About me

Hello, I'm Roisin Robinson, and I'm a fully qualified Play Therapist accredited by PTUK and member of BACP.

My journey into therapy started when I was working as a learning support assistant in a school for children with additional needs. It was here that I discovered the magic of connecting with children through play.

These children inspired me to start my journey into becoming a therapist, and also provided me with the wealth of experience in supporting young people with additional needs.

For the last five years, I've had the privilege of working as a mental health professional at NHS CAMHS, where I've focused on providing support to young people dealing with symptoms of trauma.

I've also been involved in parent-child interventions and hold a Level One Theraplay training certification to strengthen this aspect of my work.

My work is driven by my strong belief in the power of therapy to create positive transformations. I'm genuinely inspired by the incredible journeys my clients embark on, and I'm always thrilled to see the positive changes it brings to their lives.

The therapy

My experience in non-direct play therapy has provided me with a versatile set of skills perfectly suited for helping young individuals navigate the twists and turns of life. This knowledge seamlessly combines with my rewarding experiences at the NHS, where I've learned the art of tailoring therapy to suit each person's unique needs.

Think of it as having a toolkit with just the right tools for any job. By customising therapy to match each client's individual requirements, I ensure that it's as comfortable and effective as a personalised solution for their unique journey.

Let me paint a picture for you: I take classic Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and sprinkle in a bit of creativity, making our sessions as unique as each client. It's like adding a personal touch to a recipe. By embracing what my clients love and adjusting the pace to their comfort, I make sure they leave our time together feeling strong, confident, and ready to use these new skills in their everyday lives.
